Jenny,

Your views are respected but I noticed that your views are exttremely narrow-minded. And do you happen to have a list of testimonies from your clients who can vouch for you? I do not see any good references made to your practices on your website and from your blog, I have my doubts about the professionalism of your practice. Furthermore, the only comments I have seen on your blogs are all positive ones which is simply impossible. I’d suggest that perhaps you can let some constructive criticism be published as well, that is to say if you have actually deleted them all.

Youth and older experience have no limitations now or in the future. Neither one on their own can reach the goals in todays work force time after time. Yes, each can win many battles, but the goal is to win the war in the national or global market place. As we all know business is global and being so requires both new and old working together and learning together to move forward in todays global market. I am a baby boomer. I find working with youth keeps my mind competitive, and our experience helps launch youth even more rapidly than they could ever expect on their own.
If we work together we will only succeed.

While we are discussing about topics relevant to Job Search vs. Career Management, When you are out of a job, guess what… finding a job becomes your job. Your goal every day is to get up and regroup. Keep a journal of where you have applied, who you have talked to, and what they said. Follow-up with anyone that kept the door open to potential future employment.

Very valuable comments Jenny. I would also add:-

1. Try to create a 1 pager resume (your audience is multi tasking and cannot wade through 4 pagers);

2. Use the latest presentation tools and formats available to catch the eye. The audience has become spoilt by Apple’s iPhone/iPad type skins and pages;

3. Re-assure the interviewer that you’re there to support their ambitions and assist with making THEM a success.
